Edward Crowther is a rock guitarist and songwriter based in Charlotte, North Carolina, with a sound and style that recalls the larger-than-life figure of the guitar hero. Crowther’s approach to the guitar and songwriting combines the vintage attitude of classic rock with the sweet melodic character of Britpop, infused with elements of indie rock, pop punk, and folk, a combination Crowther describes in unison as Dream Romantic Rock. At its core, the sonic landscape of his music combines massive guitar riffs and licks with romantic, atmospheric melodies and emotionally moving songwriting that explores themes of nostalgia, the purpose of life, love, youth, the passage of time, and the search for meaning in a changing world. Together, these elements create a true gem of a musical experience in today’s music industry, a reminder in a world that may have forgotten what rock n’ roll felt like.
Born in 1999 and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, Crowther would not begin his pursuit of the guitar until 2016, following a moving experience with music that sparked an entirely new direction in his life. Still in his teens, he formed his first original band, Burban, in Raleigh, where he quickly began building a following and fan base of his own through live performances, becoming known for his distinctive guitar playing and commanding presence on stage. Burban came to an end during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, setting the stage for Crowther to step out on his own.
Crowther emerged from the band as a fully independent solo rock artist, building a project around his identity and vision as a guitarist and songwriter. With the guitar at the center of it all and the inclusion of featured vocalists, Crowther has built a body of work defined by his guitar playing, songwriting, and creative quest for rock n’ roll glory. To date, Crowther has released seven singles, amassing nearly 100,000 streams from listeners around the world, while bringing his music to the stage through an exciting live rock n’ roll experience. Along the way, he has built a growing online following and community of loyal rock and guitar fans.
